Long live the balcony

Long live the balcony

Because of our new normal, we have reinvented spaces that we used to underuse or even forget, and one of them is the balcony. It went from being the place where we stored things we don't use to a social area full of life and potential. Balconies come in many sizes, and it doesn't need to be a large space to look harmonious and have a style of its own. We can turn it into our best ally for board games, enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset, or sinking into a comfortable chair that invites us to some good reading.

We'll share some styles to decorate your balcony so this space doesn't go unnoticed in your new beach apartment.

The Scandinavian style has made a comeback thanks to natural materials and fibers such as cured wood for coffee tables and the iconic Acapulco chairs which, whether in neutral tones or bright colors, give each space a special touch. They are also materials that withstand all kinds of weather. Paired with touches such as small plants, it will be the ideal spot to welcome your guests in an open space.

For plant lovers, a garden-style balcony is the best way to keep your passion alive, even if you live in an apartment. Concrete planters, vertical gardens, home vegetable gardens… there are no limits to creating your own oasis at home. To complement it without getting in the way of caring for your plants, a hammock is the ideal choice, since it can be hung up or taken down as often as you like.

For very small balconies or those that are part of the bedrooms, you can use custom-made furniture, weather-resistant rugs, LED lanterns or bungalow-style chairs that hang from the ceiling.

If you love sports, yoga or meditation, the balcony is the perfect place to keep everything you need for your routines: furniture to store your weights and, if the balcony is large, doing cardio on the elliptical or treadmill couldn't be more motivating with a sea view to go with your workout. You can also set up your yoga mat with elements such as artificial fountains, Buddhas and lots of greenery to recharge your energy.
